Club Rules for the Fire & Iron Emerald Coast Station 36
1. Membership

a.
No member shall be
discriminated on basis of race, sex or creed.
b. Primary
membership of the club shall be made up of those people who are
Firefighters and Fire Department support services personnel i.e.
dispatchers, vehicle maintenance, etc. This shall and will include those
members who are paid, volunteer and retired. If you are a volunteer you
must be certified to at least Firefighter 1.
c.
Union membership not
mandatory, but appreciated.
d. Any member
can sponsor one non-Fire Department applicant to join club, (i.e. family
members, spouse or friend), all non-Fire Department members cannot sponsor
anyone. Sponsorship must meet final approval of the National President
Mike “Caveman” Moss, Chapter 1.
e.
All makes
and models of motorcycles will be accepted into club, however member
motorcycles must be at least 600cc's or greater.
f.
All
members’ passengers will be able to join the club. (I.e. spouse,
significant other or friend).
2. Dues
a.
Each
member in good standing will be required to pay annual dues.
b.
Annual dues are $25.00.
Colors, T-shirt and challenge coin are extra. Dues may be subject to
change via a majority vote of those current members in good standing. Dues
will be used to promote activities and/or purchase equipment and supplies
for the Club.
c. Dues give
each current member voting rights in the Club and voice in the Club's
direction.
3.
The Club Patch and Colors
a.
The Club
patch design/logo belongs to Fire & Iron, M.C., Chapter 1, Central Florida
Region.
b. The Club
patch will be worn with honor and pride. Placement of the Colors and
patches: on the front (as you are looking at the jacket/vest - American
Flag patch on the right side over the heart, nothing goes over the Flag.
On the left side your name patch with the year joined underneath, with
your officer rank (if applicable) underneath the year. On the back of the
jacket/vest - colors in the center with NOTHING touching them....placement
of the rocker - no more than 1”, no less than ˝ inch below the colors and
officer rank (if a patch is desired) under the rocker between 1/2 - 1
inch. You may also put the patch of your fire department on the top left
(as you are looking at the rear of the jacket/vest), a remembrance or
something in the middle and the IAFF patch (if applicable) on the right
side top (as you are looking at the jacket).
c. Reasons
for a member to lose his or her patch and membership in club are:
non-payment of dues, bringing shame and dishonor to club, actions of a
member by which a 2/3rd's majority vote of the membership feels that are
not in keeping with the Club's sprit or intent, a felony conviction.
d. Only
members in good standing will be allowed to wear the Club patch. If for
any reason a member should leave or be removed from the Club, that member
will be required turn in their patch to the Club President of his or her
respective chapter.
4.
General Information
a.
Meetings
will be held on days of rides with the exception of emergencies. The Club
will strive to have at least 1 ride a month. All members are encouraged to
set a ride day. We all don’t have the same shift or work the same tour,
some days/times work better for others.
b.
All
members are encouraged to do at least 3 rides per year and 1 charity
event, (due to conflicting tours/schedules this is not a mandatory
requirement).
c.
The
following of safe riding practices are strongly encouraged; members not
adhering to the "accepted" rules-of-the-road will not be tolerated!
d.
Personal
conflicts or fighting within the "ranks" reflect poorly on the membership
and will not be tolerated. Any disagreements will be brought before the
membership for settlement. If need be, you may be spanked with a wet
noodle until you submit defeat.
e.
Membership
in other clubs, associations or groups is allowed i.e. H.O.G. or CMA.
f.
Patches/colors will be at all public Club events i.e. parades, charity
events, meetings and official rides.
g.
Your rank
or position within the Fire Department does not carry over into Club or
hold sway over any Club activities. What happens in the Club stays in the
Club.
h.
Those
people associated with the law enforcement community will not be allowed
to join club unless they are a sponsored member as outlined in Section 1,
paragraph d or f.
5. General Notice to Members:
a.
Any of the
above listed rules are subject to change with 2/3rds majority vote of the
current, active membership and/or by the National President and Officers
of the Club. You will be informed of any changes via e-mail or meeting
handout.
